Weed Razer™ Lake Weed Cutter

The original Weed Razer lake weed cutter has simplified the lives of thousands of customers.   It takes a problem (lake and pond weeds) that people have struggled with for countless hours and turns it into a something that can be managed in minutes.  Our customers tell us it is “easy-to-use”.  The professional grade Weed Razer cuts through almost any type of rooted lake or pond vegetation (ex. lily pads, cattails, milfoil, curly leaf pond weed, eel grass etc.)  This simple and effective aquatic weed cutter is easy to throw and retrieve, and clears a path of 48 inches with each cast. Its uniquely designed V-shape ensures the optimal position and action to cleanly slice underwater weeds. The razor-sharp blades cut lake and pond weeds at their base. After cutting, nearly all rooted aquatic vegetation float to the surface and need to be removed.

Tip: Use the Weed Raker to remove weed fragments after cutting underwater plants.

Weighing less than eight pounds, the Weed Razer is light enough so it can be thrown easily, but heavy enough to sink to the bottom of your lake or pond.  The Weed Razer is environmentally friendly, easy-to-use, and safe to operate.  Each Weed Razer comes with Lockdwn ™ blade covers, a sharpener and a floating rope which allows a reach of up to 30 feet from one location

The handle comes in two sections which can be easily separated for tool storage.   Lockdwn ™ blade covers are specially designed for ease of use and maximum coverage to keep your Weed Razer safe while not in use.  The Weed Razer have stainless steel blades a galvanized steel frame.  This tool should last you a lifetime.

    Thank you so much!
Overall great product! Made my life much easier clearing cattails.

As for the Weed Razer itself, it works well provided the weeds you are attempting to remove aren’t too thick; otherwise it bogs down and rises to the surface instead of cutting the weeds.

Excellent product and delivered as promised! Thanks

Works very well…as advertised. It’s very sharp and the weeds just float to the top. Makes quick work of an otherwise daunting task.

I like the way the rake works

The answers to all your weed issues!. Been dealing with weeds by my dock for years and finally no more!. Very easy to use. I also purchased the floating weed rake to bring in some of the weeds from the surface as well. Great product and very well made. Buy this! You’ll be glad you did.

I have a lot of old cat tail growth in my pond, due to neglect over the years. At the beginning of Spring before any new growth had started, I raked out all the dead cattails. Then I ordered the weed razer to clean up any new spring growth. It worked great on the new growth of cat tails and even dredged up a large amount of roots from other pond plants. I expect to be able to maintain my pond much better with this tool. The only suggestion I have is to possibly make a smaller sized rake for shoreline cutting as the rake was too large to cut weeds along the shore of the pond.

Does what is says. I have used several other solutions, and this is the best so far. Comes with a steel to keep the blades sharp. The edges are sharp.

Really works great and without much effort. Be really careful with the blades as they are Razor sharp.

The Weedrazer is perfect, and makes quick work of a thick thatch of lake weeds.I did need to install a longer throw rope than the one provided. You want to regularly sharpen the blade for maximum effectiveness. Have realistic expectations, though. This is like cutting a lawn — it cuts the lake weeds low (below the surface), but it doesn’t get the roots — so weeds will return. If you want a more durable solution, consider getting a scuffle hoe, that will dig out your weeds by the roots.

This is the perfect tool for cutting weeds from our lake. I recommend this product.

    Very happy so far.

This pond was densely overgrown and had years of dead Cattail mounds. It was fairly easy to throw, light weight and easy to handle.
This pond really put this to the test and it all worked out great! Still took a lot of work, needed a longer stronger rope, the rope that was included ended up snapping due to 3 days of abuse.
The pond is roughly 100×75 some spots as deep as 5′.

I wish I took before, during, and after pictures of the lake in using this tool!!!! Don’t get me wrong, it is still alot of work with cutting down the lake weeds, then raking them in, and hauling away but there is simply no other way we would have been able to clear out the stuff in front of our lake house without it. Neighbors were amazed at how clear it was. The razor is easy enough on its own, so I went around and cut a bunch for all of them. If you have lake weeds/plants that you need to get rid of, look no further. Just be careful and wear gloves, the blades are extremely sharp.

Works as well or even better than expected. I cleaned aquatic grass from my lakefront so it took multiple passes to really do the job.
One disappointment was the flimsy plastic blade covers. Both of mine split in the process of assembling the blades. This need to be improved.
Also the plastic grommets that you insert in the handle for threading the rope are of poor quality. One of them split as I tried to insert it per the video instructions.

Amazing. It did the job when I didn’t think anything would help. Blades are razor sharp. Use caution and good judgment when you are using this product.

Works as advertised. Cleaned up a very neglected pond.

Fabulous! Worked better than I thought. Easy enough to use but very sharp so you have to be very careful around people and objects. Loved it.

I could not believe how well it worked!  On the first toss I panicked when pulling it back because it met with such little resistance, I actually thought I had lost the Razer in my pond.  I have been at my residence for 2 years and have tried every landscaping rake I could find and had no luck until I bought the Weed Razer.  I had a rake to clean up and remove the cut weeds that I thought would work, but after using the Weed Razer products and saw how easy it was to use and how well it cut the weeds, I purchased the Weed Raker also, because the rake I had before was not effective at all in clearing everything that was cut.

Our neighbor had one of these and let us borrow it for a couple of days. Within a couple of hours of using it, I ordered one for us. We have weeds along our lake front and this tool has made it so easy for us to clear the beach front. My husband used to go into the water and pull weeds by hand. This has made his job so much easier. We LOVE it! It will take work no matter what if you are clearing weeds but the right tool will make it go so much quicker.

Cut through the weeds like a hot knife through butter.

This is a very easy tool to use even for two small women. It was very comfortable to use, sharp as stated, cleans up in seconds. I wanted to purchase this tool a few years back, but hesitated, wish I hadn’t. In just about 20 hrs. of work between four of us, we were able to clear a half acre area.

I bought the 48” Weed Razer at Ace in Wautoma, went home put it together and used it immediately. It works amazing and is so great and are so happy! I could not believe the results I saw from the first pull back. My husband said him and his brother are starting a fish farm in Wautoma and will be using the Razer on 3 current ponds and another new pond in the spring.  My brother-in-law said saw the Weed Razer ad in a magazine at the dentist office and is the first thing he has been able to find that works on cattails. I will be telling everyone I know about the Razer and sending everyone your way!

Very effective tool! I have been working on a pond (approx. 1 acre) that is thick in cattails around its periphery. From the shore, they spread about 15 ft. out into the water and represent four years of uncontrolled growth. I have worked (every few days) on clearing them for about a month now. In the 4 weeks I have worked on clearing to the shoreline, the cattails have grown from 12″ (first area cleared) to 4 ft. (most recent work area) in height above the water. So, I have cut small and tall plants. Considering old growth and new growth, the cattails are VERY THICK but the weed razor will cut through them. It is more effective having two guys pulling on the rope to retrieve in the razor through the weeds, but I can do it myself (61 yrs old) when needed. It is best to keep the blades sharpened.

The technique of throwing it while holding the loose end of the rope is easy to master as is getting it to land where you want and right-side up. The blades are SHARP! By SHARP, I mean sharper than most new kitchen knives and more like a razor blade. I neglected the warning stickers, thinking the blades were “sharp” like spicy salsa in the Midwest is “hot”. Fortunately I only got a little knick from the blade, but quickly learned to respect them and keep them covered whenever they are not in use.

The tool is fantastic for cutting through weeds. I was/am disappointed at the resilience of lake weeds! My hope was that after 2 or three cuttings they would be gone for good and that is fairly accurate with the submerged stuff. Anything growing above water (lilies, grasses) seem to have impressive nutrient reservoirs and keep coming back. If you pull the roots of a water lily you can see how/why- some that I have pulled are 2.5-3″ in diameter!

The first few passes are a fair bit of work, nothing to make you sore but wear gloves to protect wet hands from blisters.

Subsequent passes are easy, throw it out and pull it back in about a minute (less) per rep.
